Violet - ADOPTED!!'s Story

Meet Violet! This adorable little puppy was spotted running as a stray with two other dogs in Prince William County. She was fortunate to be rescued by one of our foster dads who lives in the area. Violet is truly a lucky pup, both for being brought to safety and for gaining immediate entry into our rescue, where we will ensure she finds the very best home.

Her foster dad notified the local shelter and posted across social media, but no one came forward to claim this sweet girl. Violet recently visited our vet, who estimated her to be about 6 months old and weighing 30 lbs. She received a clean bill of health and will be going in for her spay surgery soon.

Violet is currently being fostered with an attentive foster mom and dad, a 4-year-old child, and multiple cats. She also enjoys regular playdates with family dogs. Her foster dad is taking her out and about to ensure she gets plenty of socialization so she’ll be ready for her future family.

She's getting comfortable with the crate and still working on house training. Like most young bullies, Violet is full of energy, but she’s also a total snuggle bug who loves her humans.

FOSTER DAD UPDATE - 12/28/25

All is going well with Violet. She's getting better with her crate time and sometimes goes in by herself to have a moment. She's been doing really well with housebreaking and hasn't had any incidents for over a week now. She's getting a little better on a leash and seems to prefer the martingale to a harness. She doesn't pull, but does get easily distracted and will freeze in place when she sees or hears something that gets her attention, which is frequently. Leash skills are still a work in progress.

**********

We are looking for a fun, active family with a flexible schedule for Violet, someone who is ready to continue the socialization and basic training that all puppies need.

Apply today!

BREED ESTIMATE: American Staffordshire Terrier Mix
GENDER: Female
APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: 30 lbs (will be 50-60lbs fully grown)
APPROXIMATE AGE: ~ 6 months old
COAT TYPE: Short coat
ADOPTION FEE: $425.00
OTHER INFO: utd on shots/will be spayed and microchipped
LOCATION: Manassas, VA

FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application.

You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted.
