Violet's Story

Animal Profile:

Meet Violet! We can call her a Southern Nub Tail Golden Labittie. She is an estimated 2 year old female Pittie Retriever mix and weighs about 40 lbs. Violet is described as a pup who is happy to see other dogs, playful and has soft body language.

Foster Update:

Violet is the ideal mix of snuggly, playful, confident, and easygoing. She will happily follow you from room to room and curl up beside you at night. She’ll look right into your eyes and melt your heart every single time.

Violet loves both people and dogs, and she plays well without being over the top. She’s always up for a game of fetch, but she’s just as content to lounge by your side. She’s very gentle and would likely do well with children. She’s currently being fostered in an apartment and doing great with daily exercise.

Violet is crate and potty trained and is learning how to walk politely on a leash. Now that she’s settled in, she’s also working on basic commands—she already knows sit and out (for giving back the ball), and is making progress with lie down and wait. She’s confident and eager to please, and because she loves praise, training is fun and rewarding.

She also does wonderfully in crowds—she’s been to busy events and was a total ham with people, soaking up attention and winning everyone over. Violet even won over my resident dog, who usually takes a few weeks to warm up to fosters—they’ve quickly become best friends and love to play and wrestle together. Her funny little nub tail wiggles non-stop when she’s happy, especially when getting pets, and it’s impossible not to smile when she’s around.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.

Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application

Animal History:
This dog is being transferred from Caddo Parish animal shelter in Shreveport Louisiana and arrived to Seattle via Tail Lights Rescue Project on September 15th, 2025.
