Violet's Story
If you want a sweet and loving Husky, Violet is your girl! Violet is 5 years old and was in the shelter for almost a year. I don’t know how this sweet girl was passed up! The vet called her Miss Congeniality at her visit! When talking about a Husky, calm and quiet are not terms usually used but Violet is all of those! She has only barked a few times and that has been when she is in her crate and wants to go outside to potty. Violet hasn’t really shown too much interest in toys, except for a frozen Kong with peanut butter, but she loves going on walks and cuddling with you on the couch. She goes into her crate when you tell her to “go home” with no issue. She is also potty trained and loves our eight and five-year-old boys. She is great with her male and female foster siblings (Chihuahua, Jack Russell mix and Husky) too. She is a little curious with the loud barking neighbor dogs and does get overly excited, but we are working on that! When the neighbor dogs are out, I take her out on a long leash so I can correct her easily when she goes running to the fence. If it’s just our dogs in the backyard and no distractions, she stays away from the fence. I don’t think she has had much training on a leash in her previous life, but she is a fast learner and usually by the middle of our walks stops pulling. She did show interest in a mallard duck on our walk but hasn’t shown interest in others walking their dogs. Violet loves belly rubs, scratches, kisses and giving hugs by putting her head over your shoulder and pushing all her weight into you! You will not get a more loving, well behaved Husky than Violet.
