Vincent's Story
Meet Vincent!

Vincent is a 2-3 year old, possibly American Bulldog/Mastiff mix (?) who weighs in at about 80 pounds of pure love, enthusiasm, and the occasional bull-in-a-china-shop moment. He's got the giant block head you'd expect from a dog his size, though we suspect the operating system inside runs on roughly 4 (very happy) brain cells. They work hard, though - mostly on snacks, cuddles, and general joy.

Vincent's favorite hobby is plopping his enormous noggin directly onto your lap, instantly transforming himself into a living, breathing weighted blanket. Benefits include warmth, comfort, and unconditional love. Possible side effects may include snoring and the occasional dramatic sigh.

Vinny also has an oddly adorable habit of sucking on blankets while kneading them with his paws - sort of like a fabric pacifier.
So if this delightful goofball feels like your soulmate (no judgment here), you may want to stock up on soft, fluffy blankets now. The softer the better. Vincent may look like a tough guy, but underneath it all he's basically a marshmallow. He also loves durable chew toys made for bully breeds and a good, enthusiastic game of tug.

Vin originally spent about a month at ACCT Philly after being found wandering the streets in the middle of winter. Sadly he spent most of that time in the isolation unit battling pneumonia. Under normal circumstances, we suspect his big goofy head and happy personality would have had him adopted much sooner.

Even while dealing with the noise, stress, and being pretty sick, Vincent still managed to charm the shelter staff with his upbeat attitude and zest for life.

Since landing in foster care, Vin is doing wonderfully. He's learning the joys of routine, structure, love - and peanut butter toast every morning (a personal favorite).

Because Vincent is a large, strong boy who sometimes forgets just how big he is, we are looking for a home with large-breed experience that is committed to continuing his training. He means well he's just a little... enthusiastic. For that reason, we think a home with children over 15 would be the best fit. Cats would probably not appreciate his style of friendship.

Vin absolutely loves other dogs, but he plays with a big, bouncy, slightly chaotic energy. Any future dog siblings will need to be comfortable with that kind of rough-and-tumble play.

Vincent is crate trained when his foster family isn't home, although he firmly believes he has earned the right to roam free. He may whine briefly before settling in.

Vincent is housebroken, neutered, heartworm negative, UTD on vaccines, microchipped and recently had a dental.

Vincent is currently being fostered in Philadelphia. Potential adopters will need to meet him there or within a reasonable distance. He will also need to meet any potential dog siblings, although we prefer to introduce him to people first so everyone can get to know him without the added pressure of a dog meet at the same time.

If you're looking for a big-hearted, slightly ridiculous, blanket-loving best friend - Vinny might just be your guy.

Kennel License 9117
Reading, PA 19608
