Vienna is a 4 to 5 year old Chihuahua mix who came to us from county along with a group of dogs in urgent need of skin treatment. While her physical healing has come a long way, Vienna’s emotional recovery has taken time, patience, and a lot of love.<br/><br/>After completing professional training with our partners at Connected Canines, Vienna worked hard to build confidence, learn basic cues, and feel safer in the world around her. She is a shy and sensitive girl who can shut down when she feels overwhelmed, so we are intentional about moving at her pace and setting her up for success as she prepares for the next chapter of her life.<br/><br/>Vienna is quiet, gentle, and incredibly tender once she trusts you. She is a fearful avoidant pup, which means she may retreat or try to flee when overstimulated, making safety and secure handling very important. She will thrive in a calm, structured home with a family committed to patience, compassion, and consistency, and who understands that progress often comes in small, meaningful steps.<br/><br/>Despite her sensitive nature, Vienna truly shines around other dogs and takes great comfort in their presence. She loves canine companionship and is happiest when she gets to explore the world alongside them. Vienna also has a wonderful adventurous side and enjoys getting outside, going on hikes, and soaking up nature.
