Velvet 's Story
This poor girl just can’t catch a break…
Velvet is STILL waiting for her furever home.

Velvet isn’t the kind of dog who needs to be glued to your side every second. She is confident, independent, and perfectly content doing her own thing, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t love her people. She just shows it in her own way.

She’s the kind of dog who will check in, hang out nearby, and then go right back to exploring the world around her. She’s curious, driven, and always on the move. A busy mind in a young pup’s body.

At just 7 months old, Velvet is full of potential. She’s incredibly smart and already shows how much she enjoys figuring things out on her own. She doesn’t need constant attention. She needs direction and an outlet for all that brainpower and energy.

Have a high-energy pup like a Border Collie or Husky looking for a playmate? Velvet would absolutely love that kind of match.

Velvet is:
- Vocal (she’ll let you know what she’s thinking!)
- Very smart and independent
- High endurance
- Eager to learn (very treat motivated)

Velvet would THRIVE in a home that understands working-type dogs. Think structure, training, and enrichment like agility, scent work, hiking, or interactive games. She’s the kind of dog who wants a job and will excel when given one.

She does great in her crate (it’s where she settles best), and while she’s still in that puppy phase (yes… the tiny shark teeth ), she redirects well with a good chew.

Because of her energy and play style, she’d do best in a home with older kiddos and an active family who can match her pace.

Velvet isn’t for everyone, but for the right person, she’s going to be an incredible, loyal, and fun companion.

And don’t forget any dog adopted through the rescue comes with free basic obedience training at The Canine Campus Training and Wellness Center, so you’ll have support setting her up for success.

If you think you’re the right fit for this smart, independent girl, apply to adopt:

www.allaboutthepawz.com

Located in Youngstown, Ohio - must be within an hour or so of Youngstown.

*we do not respond to inquires or matches, please fill out an application and we will reach out via email once received*
