Velvet's Story

*Note: Miss Velvet is being fostered in Puerto Rico, until her perfect home is chosen. Her adoption fee includes all her vetting to date (including spay) as well a flying her to her adopters. Apply at: PRDF.org

Meet Velvet!
She is soooo sweet, and a wonderful, quiet, happy companion. Velvet loves other dogs, cats, and her human attention. She is very adaptable and quick to learn, as she has been successful in both a "group home" for our dogs, as well as in private fostering.

Velvet was rescued with her brother, Coco, off the streets of Puerto Rico on one of our volunteer's feeding / watering routes. They were both so sweet, and looked at us pleading with those beautiful amber and green eyes... we had to try to save them permanently. So, that's just what we did!

While it took a little bit of time for them to understand pet rules, Velvet is excelling nicely! She has been living with her foster in his apartment with multiple walks a day and lots of daily attention. There is also a foster cat in the home and the foster's own dog, and Velvet gets along with them all. The cat has taken to cuddling up in Velvet's "groove", and they adore each other.

Velvet will do great with a family of kids, with a single person, or elderly couple - she's really a great all-around pup that can do well in multiple situations. She has been spayed, has all her shots and monthly preventatives, and we successfully treated her these past 4 months for HeartWorm and she is in great health now.

Could Velvet be the dog that you've been missing in your life? Look at her smile! Let's chat, and see if you are the perfect match for her! Apply at: prdf.org and our volunteers will reach out.
