Vector's Story

11/18: current weight 45.2 lbs Breed note: If you have an active life and want a dog that is eager to join in, then this type of dog would be ideal for you. He will be the one to hike, run, and play with you. He will help you get your work done and then rest by your side. These dogs love to power walk and jog compared to a simple walk. They have a great need to be exercised: about 60 to 80 minutes per day (20-minute increments 3 to 4 times a day are best). Puppies need less exercise. Agility or obedience training would be ideal for engaging their minds. If you want to provide him with some off-leash exercise, choose a fenced area. They are sensitive and highly trainable, so stay calm, firm, and consistent with them during training. Never use physical force or anger during training. Instinctively, they display herding behaviors such as chasing and circling, moving effortlessly for hours and nipping at peoples heels. They love to run in circles like their ancestors, so dont be surprised. They love cold weather, but are also well adapted to warm weather, however, always keep them inside. These dogs thrive on loving companionship. Before leaving Cortez Rescue Vector will be given a full medical assessment to insure he remains in optimum health. Please review our Adopt-a-Pet page for further details about adoption fees and any possible transportation costs/issues or call with any further questions you may have about this lovable and delightful pup. He currently lives in Baja near Cabo San Lucas. Please visit our website www.cortezrescue.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
