Valorie's Story

Valorie is barely a year old, but she's been through so much. There's a reason we spell her name the way we do: She has displayed a lot of valor.

We are bound and determined to turn Valorie's life around so she can experience the love of people and know that she is safe and cared for, furever.

Valorie came to us with not one but two broken legs. She is now healed from her second surgery, and the vets think she'll be able to run, play and jump like a regular dog with no lasting physical effects. However, because the injuries happened at the hands of humans, she still bears some emotional scars.

Here are some things that bring her joy:

Other dogs! Walks are exciting, & she pulls a little at first, then settles into a nice pace with you. She is house-trained and bell-trained, & she sleeps in her crate at night.

Valorie is very gentle with kids who are respectful to dogs and who know that she will need space at first. Then, she will love and protect them hard. So kids are fine but cats are a 'no' for this girl.

She is bashful because of her past and may startle at sudden noises and movements, especially at first. She will need some time - likely days or even weeks - to acclimate to her new home, before many new people or visitors start showing up.

Valorie will continually remind you what life is all about and keep you focused on all the joys there are to behold. Want to be her forever hero? Apply to adopt her today.

She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped, plus current on preventatives for heartworm and flea/tick. Her adoption fee is $175.

APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org

Pawsitive Tails's Adoption Policy
Pawsitive Tails is dedicated to matching the needs and personality of our dogs with your family. We are not in a hurry to adopt out our dogs; we want to make sure the match is perfect for everyone. All of the dogs in our rescue live in foster homes with both the human and furry members of our families. Our adoption process begins with an application which can be found under the "adopt" tab on our website, www.pawsitivetailskc.org. Please complete the form in full; the questions we ask help us to fully understand what type of dog you are looking for, and to make sure you get the very best fit. Incomplete applications will not be processed. If you do not include a vet phone number, a landlord phone number (if applicable), or 3 complete references, we cannot process your application. We will contact your Veterinarian, so please make sure to call them to release your vet history to our volunteer. &nbs
