Meet VALKYRIE — aka VAL — a seven-year-old Yorkie-poo with a squishy little body, a huge heart, and a JOYFUL spirit that’s just been bursting to shine. <br/><br/>For the first seven years of her life, VAL was more of a bystander than a family member — kept behind a gate in the kitchen, only really seen at mealtimes, and never getting the chance to explore the world outside. No walks. No adventures. No couch cuddles. Just… watching life go by.<br/><br/>And yet — somehow — she came out of it absolutely FULL of love.<br/><br/>Since being rescued, VAL has been making up for lost time in the best way possible. She is happy, affectionate, and so eager to be part of everything. She LOVES other dogs, does great with cats, and is wonderful with kids. She doesn’t just want a family — she wants to be in the middle of it all.<br/><br/>Car rides? Yes please. Walks? Let’s go. (She is a high-energy pup who can walk for miles.) Weekend adventures? She’s already at the door.<br/><br/>VAL would love a home where people are around a lot and she has dog and/or cat friends and maybe some small humans to play with her as well.<br/><br/>VAL has been trained to use potty pads but is more than ready to learn the outdoor routine with a little consistency. She recently had a full vet check and is healthy, spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm/Lyme negative. Her bloodwork looks amazing. Her only goal now? She needs to drop a couple of pounds as she steps into her new, active lifestyle. (VAL currently weighs 18 lbs, but the vet says she should weigh 15 lbs.). She will also require regular grooming.<br/><br/>What VAL truly deserves is a home that will include her — not tuck her away.
