Valentino's Story

Meet Valentino! He hails from GA and is a an approximately one year old 47 pound black Lab. Valentino is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heart worm negative. He is a very active and affectionate dog. He is housebroken and will even signal at the door when he has to go out. He is not the type of dog who you leave out in the yard to play as he likes to be with his people. He has never met an adult, child, or dog he doesn’t like. He loves to lean against you and often “checks in” so you can pet him. He is extremely responsive and very food motivated. He responds immediately to verbal praise with lots of wagging. He is still getting used to a home environment so he sometimes tries to chew on things that are not his toys and needs to be monitored when not crated. He should outgrow this as he learns the home environment. He is learning to walk on a leash and LOVES going on walks. He is a great walking companion as he is so enthusiastic about everything on the walk and he benefits from the exercise. He is crate trained although he will bark and whine when first crated. If you throw a treat into the crate he will run right in and he should outgrow his “complaining” as he learns the daily routine. He would benefit from obedience training as he is extremely intelligent and responsive and most likely will learn his commands quickly. He already knows “sit” and is learning “come” and “wait”. He loves playing with toys and likes to play fetch. He does best with my dog as his role model and would do best in a home with another dog. He loves to play with my dog (and any dog he meets). He needs a family that will appreciate his need for play and activity. Valentino is very smart, loving, and responsive dog who would make a great companion in his forever home.?

If you are interested in one of our dogs, please fill out the adoption application which can be found on our main website here: www.HouseOfHopeAnimalRescue.com and click on Applications.
