Valentino's Story
Meet Valentino 💘 — a playful, affectionate young pup. This sporty 35-pound terrier blend is estimated to be around 2 years old and is ready to steal your heart.

Valentino’s love language is TOYS, TOYS, and MORE TOYS! Treats and tummy rubs come in a close second. His energy level is moderate—he’s happy with one or two brisk daily walks and then content to relax and hang out with his people.

During outings with our trainer, Val has shown himself to be very smart and eager to learn. He takes direction well and, with just a bit of training, has already become an excellent walking buddy. Valentino can be a bit insecure and will need an owner willing to give him time to settle into a new home. To support his success, we are willing to sponsor a training program to help him adjust.

When meeting other dogs, Valentino can get a little over-excited (likely due to limited socialization earlier in life), but he settles quickly and can enjoy calm, sniffy walks alongside new canine friends. He loves car rides (be sure to strap him in—or he’ll try to sit in your lap!) and has gained confidence exploring parks, shopping centers, and other new environments.

Valentino would do best as the only dog in the home, as he prefers not to share his toys—though he has no issues with people handling them. For the same reason, an adults-only home is recommended. He has been cat-tested and approved.

While we may never know what this sweet boy has been through, his initial hesitation with new people suggests life hasn’t always been easy. Thankfully, his love of toys quickly wins out over his fears—so come prepared to PLAY when you meet him!

To meet Valentino, please complete our adoption application at www.greatpets.org, and we’ll be in touch promptly. Valentino’s $300 adoption donation includes his vet exam, neuter surgery, vaccinations, fecal test, and microchip.
