Valentino 's Story
Say Cheese! Meet Valentino, or as his friends call him, Tino! This 4-month-old was found wandering the streets of Puerto Rico all by himself. Luckily, intrepid rescuers intervened, and he hitched a ride all the way to Colorado!

Everything is new for Tino, but he's taking it all in stride like a champ.

Foster siblings? Loves them.
Foster mom? Loves her, too, and is learning that cuddling is enjoyable!
Crate? Hangs out in it with no problems.
Potty training? Done.

Tino is a beautiful dog - rich chocolate eyes, a beautiful reddish cinnamon coat, and a big black nose. He's learning quickly and has all the makings of being a perfect Colorado pup. He is in a foster home with two other dogs, and is doing well with them and enjoying their company. He has not yet met cats or children, but we believe he will get along just fine with both!

Our favorite thing about Tino is that he truly has comedic timing. He smiles. He gives side eyes. He'll give a paw tap when he wants you to pay attention to something silly. This kid is pure joy. He is here for a good time, and he's looking for a family that is up for a life full of laughter with him.

Valentino is not yet neutered and still needs to finish his vaccine cycle, but he is available as a foster-to-adopt. This is when a future owner takes over as the foster, and once all the adoption criteria are met, they complete the process!

Usually, satos (homeless dogs from Puerto Rico) are a mix of many breeds, some chihuahua, some pit, and you name it! They are always loving and grateful.
We do not know what breed Tino is, possibly a lab mix, but our volunteers have suggested shepherd, pointer, or even retriever! Whatever he is, it's a handsome mix. We anticipate he will grow into a middle-sized adult, possibly around 30-40lb, but of course, they do sometimes surprise us!

If you are interested in adopting this pup, please fill out the application here:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BSCO/Dog
----------------------------------------------

We ask for a $400 donation as the adoption fee, to help cover the costs of medical services and transport.
