She is an affectionate companion who forms strong bonds with her family and thrives in a home where she receives plenty of love, attention, and companionship.<br/><br/>Valentina enjoys daily exercise and does best with either two 20-minute walks each day or one longer evening walk lasting one hour. <br/><br/>Regular walks help her relax and keep her happy. <br/><br/>She especially loves swimming in lakes, rivers, and pools, and one of her favorite activities is retrieving sticks from the water. She also enjoys playing fetch with her toys, solving challenges, and learning new things.<br/><br/>Valentina is house-trained, spayed, and knows several commands, including sit, shake, lie down, play dead, and spin. She is eager to learn, highly intelligent, and enjoys working with her people. While she loves affection, she prefers belly and chest rubs over being petted on the head.<br/><br/>She is happiest when surrounded by her family and would do best in a home where someone is around for most of the day. <br/><br/>Valentina does not enjoy being left alone for long periods and can become anxious if left by herself for more than 9 hours a day.<br/><br/>Valentina is protective of her home and the people she loves. She can be cautious and suspicious when meeting new people, but once she realizes they are not a threat, she becomes the sweet, affectionate dog that she is. <br/><br/>She also gets along well with other dogs, although she may need a little time and patience to adjust since she was the only dog in her previous home.<br/><br/>Because she has a prey drive, Valentina is not suitable for a home with cats or other small animals. She enjoys chasing squirrels, rabbits, and deer and may pull on the leash if she spots or smells one during a walk. However, she has made great progress with training and responds well to verbal commands, stopping when asked.<br/><br/>Valentina has always lived indoors and does not do well in crates or cages. <br/><br/>Although she loves spending time outside, she has poor heat tolerance and should not be left outdoors for extended periods in warm weather unless she has access to plenty of fresh water or, even better, a place to swim.<br/><br/>Valentina is looking for a stable, loving, and responsible forever home with a family that understands her needs and will include her as an important part of their lives.
