Val's Story

Meet Val The Snack-Loving, Nap Queen Bully Mix
Val might just be the most snack-obsessed cuddle bug youll ever meet. Shes a 35-pound ball of gentle curiosity who loves curling up under your legs for naps while you are working and sneaking in little tail wiggles when shes feeling brave. Shes still figuring out life in the rescue world nervous but excited all at once and every single day, she grows a little more confident.
When Val first arrived with two other girls from Long Beach Shelter, she was shy, scared, and unsure how to eat or play. But even then, her foster mom could see her heart was determined to learn what love really feels like. With time, patience, and a consistent routine, shes been blossoming beautifully.
Personality traits (for now)
Val loves her ball shes the self-proclaimed Nap and Snack Queen of the Yard but if another dog gets to the toy first, she happily lets them have it. Its clear she never had much experience with doggy play before, but shes learning fast! Her foster mom says Val reads the room well and understands other dogs signals, showing amazing emotional intelligence for a pup still learning the ropes. She will avoid conflict, maybe she is still unsure or she just does not like confrontation (we are figuring her out on her time)
Shes doing great on a leash, walks with a sweet back-and-forth rhythm, and rides well in the car though shes still a little timid, she loves watching the world go by through the window. Her excitement is her way of fighting through fear she wants to play, wants to love, and shes learning that its safe to do both.
Medical & Care
Val is in great health and doesnt show any signs of allergies! Shes on a fish-based diet like most of the pups in our rescue and has adjusted beautifully no itchy paws or ear scratching here! She gets a daily probiotic and has done fantastic on her food transition. Every once in a while, shell throw in a little booty dance just to remind us shes feeling herself.
Shes not a huge fan of spa day, but shes a good girl in the bath and handles it like a champ.
Val is currently taking antibiotics for a UTI, which is whats causing her occasional pee accidents. Otherwise, shes doing great with crate training she doesnt bark, cry, or fuss, and goes in and out with no problem. Her crate has truly become her safe space for decompressing and relaxing.
With a consistent schedule and continued patience, Val is on her way to becoming the confident, happy girl she was always meant to be.
Val is spay vaccinated and microchipped her adoption donation fee is $1025.00. You can apply for her at freedomfrenchierescue.org and read the adoption process there as well. She is being fostered in Mesa, AZ.
