Vada's Story
Vada was found as a tiny 8-week-old stray in Kankakee and landed at Kankakee Animal Control before coming to IPR. Now she's safe in foster care and getting a proper introduction to puppy life, which apparently consists of playing, eating snacks, sunbathing, and sleeping in whatever tiny space she can wedge herself into.

Vada is a really nice mix of playful puppy and professional snuggler. She loves running around the yard, playing with her toys, wrestling with other dogs, and meeting people of basically every size. She's been around everyone from infants and toddlers to older kids and adults and loves them all.

And when she's done? She's DONE.

Vada loves to curl up and sleep, preferably somewhere unnecessarily small. Under something, wedged beside something, tucked into a little nook...if she fits, she sits.

She's also already crate trained and genuinely loves her crate. Her foster family will sometimes find her hanging out in there all by herself because apparently Vada has decided she needs her own bedroom.

She's learning quickly, too! Vada already knows sit and is working on wait, recall, and other basic puppy manners. Potty training is still a work in progress, which is completely normal for a puppy her age.

Vada does well with male and female dogs of all sizes and would happily have a canine buddy to play with. Cats are currently unknown.

Her perfect home is pretty simple: people who understand that puppies need continued training, plenty of playtime, snacks, love, and somewhere comfy to crash when their tiny battery finally hits 0%.

Vada is sweet, social, goofy, cuddly, and just starting to figure out this whole being-a-dog thing.

All she needs now is a family to grow up with.

DOB: 06/27/2026

Think Vada belongs in your family?
Apply to adopt at rescueapittie.org.

**Please note - all puppies under a year old must be adopted to homes with at least one adult dog**

Spay will be scheduled when old enough.
