Darling Denver is a sweet boy who has never had a break- and is desperately hoping he will finally get what he needs. Denver came into one of the kill shelters that we partner with, and from the beginning, everyone's heart broke for him. He came in when an elderly woman contacted animal control to come pick him and another dog up. Her grandson had kept him in a cage in a woods on her property and used them for breeding to make money. He is large, gorgeous and blue which made him lucrative. But the grandson took off and left them there. She then began to walk to bring them food but was too elderly to care for them any longer and didn't know what else to do.<br/>When they picked up this boy he was so unbelievably sweet from the moment then met, and they couldn't imagine him living such a devastating life of neglect. After being at the shelter for a little while they were able to see that he is an absolute doll with everyone he meets. He was wonderful with people immediately, and a volunteer even had him out playing with her 2 year old daughter and he was so tender and sweet with her. He has never really been exposed to animals so he would do best in a home either as an only pet or with humans who are able to take it slow and boost his confidence when meeting new animal friends.<br/>His story is so sad and he is just fading and depressed sitting in an overcrowded shelter. The staff alerted us now that sadly his time is up. They can only hold them so long when the shelter is full and they are now left with no choice. They love him so much, and everyone just wants to see this guy finally have a chance to be loved and live a good life. We went ahead and requested all of his medical work be done so that if someone is found, he is ready to go. He has now been fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, and neutered.<br/>We do not have any foster space available for him sadly, but we didn't want to just say no and leave him without any chance of making it out alive. We are looking for ideally a forever home, but would also be happy to find a foster home or another rescue who would like to save him. He has an easy going, loving, sweet disposition and is just so desperate for someone to finally love him. He is still in need of a forever home, but for now he is safe, making wonderful doggy friends and waiting patiently for his forever home:) and my goodness is he a gentle, snuggly, amazing boy! He does great with other dogs and all people, and he has PERFECT house manners. Never destructive, and no accidents! What a wonderful boy he is:)
