Uno's Story

Pure-bred gentleman, Australian shepherd mix, 7 years old (approx)

Good with the dog he is fostered with. Great with kids and lives with a kid in his foster home. No cats.

Superpower: Sniffing, tracking
Activity level: low-moderate. Loves walking fast and also loves lying inside looking out the window. Really likes to hang out outside.
Temperament: Laid back, easy going. Gets excited to see you.

Uno is GENTLEMAN of a pup. Cuddles are his favorite. His best move to make friends is his automatic sit, then hop forward to be even closer (in case you forgot he wanted pets), then he will put his head in their laps. We wonder if he was a working dog at some point, with his perfect sit and focus on his person. While he would love a farm to walk, he is also happy in retirement, watching his domain from the porch and walking the perimeter of his yard.

Speaking of walking, this boy loves his walkies. He is really nice on leash and loves to do a fast walk/slow trot. He really likes to explore into the tall grass next to the trails, but he’s not sniffing flowers – he's trailing bunnies and other small creatures. He nose is VERY good. Because of his prey drive, he is not a great candidate for off-leash walks and will not be placed in a home with cats, pet bunnies, guinea pigs, etc.

Uno rode from Texas to Wisconsin perfectly, went potty and stretched his legs right on schedule. He is a perfect gentleman and really fun companion. He makes his foster family smile with his enthusiasm for life. He is great to hang out with and have coffee in the morning and watch the sunset with at night. Throw in some walks and he is a happy boy! He loves his bed, a bone now and then, and most of all, kind hands giving him attention.
