UNDAI's Story

This sweet boy Undai is an 8 y/o young German shepherd mix with the kindest, gentlest spirit. I am fostering him for CABQ Eastside and he has a wonderfully sweet and affectionate disposition. He landed at the shelter 4 months ago as a stray with some horrific injuries that required amputating part of his tail and resulted in the loss of vision in one eye. It's hard to imagine how he endured and survived this injuries before he came to CABQ. He is slowly adjusting to his new way of seeing. He is great with other dogs and would love a canine sibling to play with. He is crate trained and can sleep there (though he prefers a doggy bed near his person) and can also be crated when he is left at home for a few hours. We think he was house trained and we are working on reinforcing that with bell training. He does well if can go out every couple of hours, take a slow leisurely walk with you and goes out before bedtime. He’s learning to tell us when he has to go. He is also readjusting to walking on a leash with one seeing eye. He is very smart and learns quickly and is eager to please. He loves to hug his person and sit close to you; he is truly a best friend who's just waiting for someone to love.
