Ulysses 's Story

Age: 9 Years Weight: 60lbs At 9 years old, nothing seems to phase this sweet boy. If you looked up chill in the dog dictionary, this dude’s picture would come up immediately. After being rescued in Texas, Ulysses has settled into city life like he’s a native NYer! His two favorite things are naps and butt scratches. He will politely back his rump into you demanding more pets and continue to circle back until he’s satisfied. He is sweet as pie and when he’s awake, will follow you from room to room and sit politely at your feet while you complete your tasks. He’s working on his leash manners (no pulling, but he loves a zig-zag), and doesn’t seem bothered at all by city sounds. He shows some interest in dogs on walks but doesn’t become fixated and will continue sniffing around the streets. We haven’t had any formal intros to dogs yet though. He doesn’t get super excited when meeting people initially, but will allow a pat on the back from anyone. All in all, Ulysses is the sweetest guy, and would make anyone looking for the chillest dog on earth SOOO happy! INTERESTED IN ADOPTING? True North Pet Rescue Mission's Adoption Policy

First Step: Submit Your Application True North does not issue blanket approvals, we consider the needs of each specific dog when reviewing applications. If you don't have a specific dog in mind when applying, please note this on your application so that we can keep this in mind when reviewing. We require home photos for all applicants, but can accept a video replacement. Please enter as much detail as possible on your application, this helps us better understand what you are looking for and how this relates to the needs of the dog you have applied for. For puppies under 12 weeks, we require a care plan. This includes a plan for when the dog will be left alone, as puppies younger than 12 weeks should not be left alone longer than 2-3 hours at a time. Please Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is not always possible to reply to everyone. If your application is approved, you can expect the following. Second Step: Application Review & Approval 1. If your application is approved, an email will be sent connecting you with the dog's current foster. At this time, you may schedule a mutually convenient time to meet. 2. After meeting, you have 24 hours to confirm if you would like to move forward with finalizing the adoption. After this, if we have not heard from you, we will begin scheduling other meets. 3. If you choose to finalize, we will issue an adoption contract via email. Once the signed agreement has been electronically returned along with the adoption fee (which will be disclosed prior to adopting), you will be all set to coordinate for pick-up with the foster! Adoption Fees: Our adoption fees are comparable to those found amongst other well-known rescues in the city. We only accept electronic payments for adoption fees.
