THINGS GET BETTER WITH AGE... AND SENIOR DOGS HAVE SO MUCH LOVE LEFT TO GIVE! <br/><br/>Meet Twizzler! This little 12-pound gentleman may be a senior, but he still has plenty of love to share. And he deserves to spend his golden years surrounded by comfort, kindness, and a family who sees just how special older dogs are. Thought to be a Pom mix perhaps. His foster only notices light shedding. <br/><br/>The shelter estimated Twizzler to be around 8 years old, but we suspect he could be 10 or older. We don't know his exact age, but we do know his story. <br/><br/>Twizzler lost the only home he knew because of his owner's health. Through no fault of his own, this sweet boy found himself in a shelter instead of curled up somewhere cozy with his person.<br/><br/>And despite that big change, Twizzler is friendly with EVERYONE! He hasn't stopped loving people, and he's ready for someone to give him a fresh start.<br/><br/> A few things to know about Twizzler:<br/><br/> He's a 12-pound companion with a big heart. The perfect lap dog size!<br/><br/> He's friendly with everyone! Even small kids. Loves other dogs but doesnt really play, just loves to greet them and coexist. Likely fine with cats too. He's chill!<br/><br/> His favorite place to be? Curled up on the couch under a pile of cozy blankets! He absolutely loves being held like a baby and gently rocked. Basically, he's a little snuggle bug looking for someone to spoil him rotten!<br/><br/> He seems to be both housetrained and kennel trained, when take on a schedule. Because he's a senior, he can't reliably hold his pee all day or all night. Belly bands work great for him, and a home where someone is around to take him potty regularly would be ideal.<br/><br/> BONUS: Twizzler is getting a dental before adoption, so that important vet care will be taken care of for you!<br/><br/> His adoption fee is only $200!<br/><br/>Of course, adopting a senior means understanding that his needs may change with age. He may need extra vet care, accommodations, and a little more patience along the way. We want a family who understands that loving a senior means being there for him as he grows older, not just while things are easy.<br/><br/>But here's the beautiful thing about senior dogs: they don't need a lifetime of adventures to make a lifetime of memories. Sometimes, the best part of their story is simply getting to spend their days feeling safe, loved, and wanted. <br/><br/>Twizzler has already lost one home.
