Meet Twister! You may have seen Twister on some of our social media pages, he has become quite the star! Twister was part of a cruelty case and was seized by animal control when they saw the horrific injuries and condition he was in. Our director saw him in August of 2022 and we were not allowed to pull him from the shelter until December of 2022 when his court case was resolved. During that time, Twisters horrific injuries started to heal on their own. Twister has two "broken" legs that have started to heal in an odd position, hence his name, Twister. He also had a tail injury which makes him fecal incontenint, meaning he needs to wear diapers 24/7. He also had an injury to his penis and leaks urine, which is where his diapers come in handy. Twister has many ailments but if you met him, you would never even know he had anything wrong with him. He SPRINTS around with his dog friends and is constantly running and playing with his tire swing. Twister attends physical rehabilitation, as that is what our surgeons and veterinarians felt was the best course of action for Twister. Surgery was not recommended at this time. Twister lives a very happy care free life and we want to be transparent as possible. He isn't going to be an easy dog in terms of caring for. He needs diaper changes 4 times a day and a bath at least once a day. But when he is in a routine he does great! We would LOVE to see Twister in a home that can show him not all humans are so cruel.
