Twilight's Story

Name: Twilight

Nicknames: Twyla, Twy

Age or Date of Birth: October 25, 2025

Activity Level: I’m a very active girl when I’m awake, but I take a lot of naps since I’m still a puppy. I love to play with others, but I’m good at entertaining myself if nobody wants to play.

Things I do in my free time: I love to play with my toys, climb on my canine foster brother and sister, follow my feline foster sister around, and snuggle with my foster mom. I love to explore the backyard, but I don’t like to stay outside very long when it’s cold. I’m teething right now, so everything is a chew toy!

Things I know: I know my crate is where I sleep, but I still take some time to settle in at night. I also know how to be gentle with cats and how to read cues from other dogs (sometimes my canine foster sister needs a break from me).

Things I am learning/currently working on: I’m learning basic commands (sit, stay, lay down). I’m very smart, so I’m learning quickly! I’m working on potty training, and I’m learning what I’m not allowed to play with.

Who I currently live with (humans and animals): Foster mom, 1 adult cat, a juvenile male dog, and an adult female dog. I’m very respectful of all of my foster siblings!

How I do with kids: I like kids! I do like to jump up on them when we first meet, so my foster mom makes sure she has treats around so we can practice manners.

How I do with dogs: I love dogs! I like to play with my pittie foster siblings, but sometimes they make me nervous when they move too fast. I’m still very small!

How I do with cats: I’m very interested in cats, and I know that I need to move slowly around them so I don’t make them nervous.

My current size: I weighed 12 pounds as of December 29th. I can climb up and down stairs, but I’m too small to jump onto the couch.

How I do in my kennel: I’m not a fan of my kennel, but I grudgingly go into it when my foster mom says it’s time. I usually whine at her for a few minutes until I calm down enough to take a nap. I know to make some noise when it’s time for a bathroom break.

How I do with car rides: I’m fine with car rides. Usually I just take a nap, but sometimes I’ll whine a little bit because I’m bored.

Am I house trained: I’m still working on potty training. I’m a little nervous to go out the door by myself, but I’m practicing every day! My foster mom is working on redirecting me to play with toys if I get into things I shouldn’t chew on.

Additional Info from foster: Twilight is very smart, and she has a huge personality for such a tiny girl. Sometimes I think she’s trying to make us laugh! Twilight loves to explore new spaces and practicing basic commands (she’s very food motivated). She prefers to play with her foster siblings, but she’s good at entertaining herself if nobody is in the mood to play. She’s very affectionate, and she loves to end the day with cuddle time on the couch.

We did a DNA test on one of the puppies but they can have multiple dads in one litter so the results could be different for each puppy.

Results: 33.9% Australian Cattle Dog, 26.8% Supermutt, 15% American Pit Bull Terrier, 14.7% German Shepherd, & 9.6% Siberian Husky
