Tuxie's Story

Proof You Can Be Handsome and Humble

Tuxie might sound like he should be serving cocktails at a fancy party, but this gentleman is more of a “Netflix and nap” kind of guy. He’s got that black-and-white formal wear, sure, but he uses it mostly for snuggling, not schmoozing.

This 1 year old, 50 lbs mixed breed boy was rescued straight off the streets of Houston and walked right into foster life like he’d been born for it — tail wagging, heart open, and already fluent in “good boy.” He’s the kind of pup who makes friends like it’s his job: confident, gentle, and instantly social with every dog he meets. He’s got two foster siblings (a golden and a pit) who think he’s the best roommate ever, and honestly, they’re not wrong.

Tuxie has an old soul wrapped in puppy energy — smart, eager to please, and picking up new tricks faster than you can find your shoes. He’s learning leash manners, sit, fetch, and how to be an all-around gentleman. Just don’t expect him to share snacks with squirrels — his prey drive says “no thanks” to small animals and cats.

He’s happiest in a home with another friendly dog and humans who appreciate a good balance of playtime and peace. He’s fully potty-trained, rarely barks, and will happily trade belly rubs for loyalty that lasts a lifetime.

If you’re looking for a companion who’s equal parts sweetheart, shadow, and sidekick — a pup who makes ordinary days feel a little lighter — then Tuxie might just be your guy.

+++++++

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://petsave.formstack.com/forms/petsave_adoption_application

+++++++

Tux is currently being fostered in Texas and will be transported to the perfect forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week!

+++++++

The Truth About Rescue:

Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website: www.stmuttsrescue.com
