Turtle NJ's Story

Turtle's adoption fee is SPONSORED!!!

Meet Turtle, a sweet, goofy, handsome pup of 3 years weighing in at 55 lbs, who is on the hunt for his forever home! Turtle's journey began with his pup siblings named Rabbit and Squirrel. One day, the trio enjoyed a fun car ride with their former owner to visit a local dog park. They were so excited to be going to play and run. But then, they heard something. It was the sound of the car they knew and the owner they loved driving away without them. Suddenly alone, their happiness quickly turned into confusion and panic. But 11th Hour Rescue stepped in, bringing them to safety and helping them to find new and loving homes. Squirrel and Rabbit have been adopted while Turtle is still looking for his special place.

Turtle is house-trained and gets along with other dogs after a proper introduction. Turtle loves to play with toys and can keep you entertained with his antics! Despite his size, he enjoys pretending he is a lap pet because he loves being close to his people. He may be a bit shy initially, but don’t let that fool you—once he bonds with you, he’ll be your loyal shadow.

His adoption fee is fully covered by a generous donor. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, too. If you have the loving, furever home where Turtle can feel safe and cherished then please apply to adopt him at EHRdogs.org and be sure to ask for this sweet boy by name, TURTLE NJ!
(function () {
// Only on animal detail pages
if (!/\/animals\/detail/i.test(location.pathname)) return;

// Debounce to avoid double-fire (touchend + click, etc.)
var lastNavAt = 0;

function toFullSize(url) {
try {
var u = new URL(url, location.href);
u.searchParams.delete('width');
u.searchParams.delete('height');
return u.toString();
} catch (e) {
return url || '';
}
}

function looksLikeAnimalPhoto(url) {
return /\/pictures\/animals\/\d+\/\d+\/[^?#]+\.(jpg|jpeg|png|gif)/i.test(url || '');
}

function handler(e) {
var el = e.target;
if (!el) return;

// Find the closest anchor or image in the click path
var a = el.closest ? el.closest('a') : null;
var img = el.closest ? el.closest('img') : null;

var url = '';

// Prefer anchor href if it points to an animal photo
if (a && a.getAttribute) {
var href = a.getAttribute('href') || '';
if (href && (href.indexOf('/pictures/animals/') !== -1 || looksLikeAnimalPhoto(href))) {
url = href;
}
}

// Otherwise fall back to the image src
if (!url && img && img.getAttribute) {
var src = img.getAttribute('src') || '';
if (src && (src.indexOf('/pictures/animals/') !== -1 || looksLikeAnimalPhoto(src))) {
url = src;
}
}

if (!url) return;

// Absolute URL + full-size version
try { url = new URL(url, location.href).toString(); } catch (_) {}
url = toFullSize(url);

// Stop PrettyPhoto (and any other delegated click handlers)
e.preventDefault();
e.stopPropagation();
if (e.stopImmediatePropagation) e.stopImmediatePropagation();

// Debounce
var now = Date.now();
if (now - lastNavAt < 500) return;
lastNavAt = now;

// SAME TAB navigation to the full-size image
location.href = url;
}

// Capture phase is the key: we get the event before PrettyPhoto.
['click', 'pointerup', 'touchend'].forEach(function (evt) {
document.addEventListener(evt, handler, true);
});
})();

Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our AMAZING animals! Our application process needs to be completed prior to any pet leaving our care, and it would be started by visiting our website. Processing time may take up to 7 days and approved applications are good for 6 months. There is no fee to apply, but all applicants must be at least 23 years of age and we ask for three personal references, a veterinary check for current/past animals, and confirmation of home ownership or contact info for landlords/management companies. Once your application has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. When your application has been processed, you will receive an email from our applications team. This email will indicate whether or not you have been approved to adopt, and provide information on your next steps. Receiving the approval email does not guarantee that the animal you applied for is still available or a good fit for your home. We do not 'hold' or 'reserve' animals during the application process.
