Turtle's Story

Turtle is a 1YO Newfoundland puppy. He is an active, rambunctious boy who enjoys playing in the water, annoying every other dog he sees, and chewing on stuff! He does get very excited around other dogs and lacks good understanding of social cues. Another adult dog, of similar size, in the home would be the best fit. He would not do well in a home with senior or small dogs. He does fairly well with the cats in his foster home - he is interested in them but does not chase. He would likely do fine with children who are taller than he is, stable on their feet, and take direction well - if they act like puppies are him (running around, screaming, chasing him, etc) then he we treat them like puppies and puppies play with their teeth. Turtle will also require a physically fenced yard - invisible or electric fences do not qualify.

Interested parties are required to complete our adoption application, which can be found at apply.mnnewfrescue.com

To find out more about our adoption process, check out our FAQ at http://newfoundland.ninja/faq.html

To support the dogs in our care, check out our wish list at wishlist.mnnewfrescue.com

Minnesota Newfoundland Rescue will adopt out-of-state, but adoptions need to be finalized by the adopting family in Minnesota.
