Turkey's Story

Introducing Turkey. 🦃

Turkey came into the shelter as a confiscation case. He has seen most the pups he came in with move on to greener pastures but yet he still waits for his day to get to leave the shelter behind! Turkey is a little shy at first but wants to stick to you like glue. When walking in a leash he leans in, to make sure to remain in contact at all times! When petting he almost melts into you. He is working on his kennel manners and will voice his displeasure about being in one for a few minutes, but is learning the kennel isn't such a bad place! Just a pup sized bedroom! He done well about house training on his staycation so we know he is a quick learner. Turks is good with other dogs being in a few playgrounds at the shelter. He was a little too interested during his cat test but we believe it is more play. We would caution anyone with cats to slowly and carefully introduce. He is vaccinated, heartworm negative and neutered. Now all he needs is YOU! For more information please email shelter@stanlycountync.gov
