TUNA's Story

Meet Tuna! Tuna is a 10 month old sweet girl who was found as a stray in Saint Charles on 12/30. At 40 pounds, she’s the perfect size for cuddles and adventures alike. With stunning hazel eyes and a gentle demeanor, she may be shy at first—but once she feels safe, she transforms into a playful, high-energy puppy full of love. Tuna is still learning about the world. She’s undersocialized and will need a calm, patient home to help her grow confident. She loves food, which makes her quick to learn new skills. Because of her initial shyness, she would do best with older children who can respect her need for reassurance. In playgroup, Tuna was sweet with humans and tried to engage other dogs by bouncing and inviting chase—but she can get overwhelmed by rough play. She has even helped a few shy dogs gain confidence, showing her gentle and intuitive nature. Tuna also showed curiosity and respect around cats, carefully observing boundaries when a feline growled at her. This suggests she could do well in a home with cats. Tuna is looking for a calm, loving, and structured home where she can build confidence, have fun, and blossom into the joyful, loyal companion she’s meant to be.
