TUNA's Story
Meet Tuna! ???? Tuna is a 10-month-old sweetheart who was found as a stray in St. Charles on 12/30. At about 40 pounds, she’s the perfect size for cuddles and adventures alike. With her stunning hazel eyes and gentle nature, it’s impossible not to fall in love. When Tuna first arrived, she was shy and unsure of the world around her. With time, patience, and kindness, her true personality has begun to shine — a playful, loving, high-energy puppy who just wants to be part of the fun. Now in foster care, Tuna is thriving as she settles into home life. She’s incredibly food motivated, takes treats gently, and has been doing fantastic with her training. One of her newest discoveries? Cozy blankets — which she absolutely loves curling up in after playtime. Tuna is also living with a foster dog sibling and doing great! She has plenty of puppy energy and sometimes gives him a run for his money, but she takes corrections well and understands dog communication. In playgroups, she’s been a star — playful, social, and even helping shy dogs come out of their shells. Even better news for her future family: ?? Tuna is fully potty trained and crate trained! ?? She’s also been wonderful with kids. She lives with a 7- and 15-year-old and has been gentle and patient even with visiting toddlers. Tuna seems to understand when little humans need extra care. Tuna is curious about cats, mostly wondering if they might want to play, and she has shown good respect for their boundaries. This sweet girl is looking for a loving home that will continue building her confidence, give her outlets for her puppy energy, and include her in everyday life. With the right family, Tuna will blossom into an incredibly loyal and joyful companion. Honestly... we’re still wondering how she’s been waiting this long for a home. She’s affectionate, playful, and full of sunshine — ready to brighten someone’s life every single day. ????
