Tulip's Story

Tulip is about 40 lbs, spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She's a friendly girl who loves people and other dogs. She LOVES playing with her toys as well! Tulip was adopted in July 2025 but due to no fault of her own, she is available for adoption again. She has already completed her 10 weeks of prison-dog training at Forsyth Correctional Center and is ready for her forever adult friendly home. Tulip would be okay with older children but would do best without small children.

Tulip is available for adoption and could be considered foster-to-adopt as well.

Piedmont Animal Welfare Alliance's Adoption Policy
Prospective adopters must first fill out an extensive application, after which we check their vet records, their references, and then do a home visit. After all that, they may come to the prison (with all pets) to meet the inmate-trainer, one of our instructors, a prison staff member, and a Paw Alliance representative. After a 45 minute meet and greet, if they still want the dog, and we approve of them, they are committed to adopting the dog. But they cannot adopt until the end of our 10 week training.
