Tucker (Salem, OR)'s Story

Meet Tucker: a sweet, gentle soul looking for comfort, stability, and love—ready to join you on your next adventure.

Tucker is a 6.5-year-old neutered male who enjoys being with his person – either cuddling on the couch or enjoying the outdoors. Tucker spent his life on a farm with his person and another dog. His world was turned upside down when his owner unexpectedly passed and he was separated from his bonded brother. Now this sweet boy is looking for a new place to land and heal as he finds stability, comfort and routine.

Tucker is a sensitive, affectionate dog who thrives on companionship. He finds comfort in routine, gentle presence, and quiet reassurance. Due to the major changes he’s experienced, Tucker has a history of general and separation anxiety. He has done well in his foster home, given time to adjust to new environments. He is happy to meet new people but benefits from slow, thoughtful introductions to new dogs. He has exhibited some resource guarding with other dogs, and so for that reason may do better in a home where he is the only dog. With stability, patience, time, and supportive medication, he has every opportunity to regain his confidence.

Tucker grew up on a rural property with lots of space to roam. He has done well adapting to urban life and would love to join you on your adventures—whether that’s the outdoors or the beach. What Tucker needs most is an adopter who understands that healing doesn’t happen overnight — someone who will allow him the space to decompress while surrounding him with kindness, consistency, and love. This is not a dog who needs fixing—Tucker is a dog who needs understanding. In return, Tucker offers unwavering affection, loyalty, and a soft, steady presence. He wants nothing more than to be close to his people, share quiet moments, and feel safe again. For the right home, welcoming Tucker will be a deeply meaningful and rewarding experience.

Tucker is being fostered near Salem, OR and is ready for a loving home that can offer him time, patience, and companionship.
