She takes 1 fish oil supplement pill twice daily along with 2 Solliquin twice daily, and a half of Apoquel (16mg) twice daily.

Also, Truffles is on a salmon grain free food due to her allergies.

For Flea and Tick prevention, she takes Credelio monthly.

Additionally, when she is experiencing a skin flare up, she takes medicated baths twice weekly.

Housebroken: Yes

Crate trained: Yes, her crate is her happy place. She loves to chew on her toys and bones. Truffles will only willingly leave her crate to go outside with her bestie. If her bestie doesn't go outside, Truffles will bark and return to her crate. You cannot stand near her crate or the door, otherwise, she won't go out or come in.

Truffles will allow us to climb in her crate for scratches and love but will not willingly leave her crate for attention. Occasionally, she will venture out for treats, but not consistently. She will allow us to carry her to the couch, and will lay quietly in your lap while getting lots of love.

Good in the car: A work in progress, if her bestie is with her, she is happy, if she's alone, she will shake.

Good on a leash: A work in progress. Again, if her bestie is with her, and she is on a chain leash, she will take a few steps. Otherwise, she is growling and chewing on the leash, with all four breaks on.

Energy level: medium

Need a fenced in yard: Yes, Truffles is no fan of leashed walks. She loves to race and play with her resident bestie and other resident dogs.

Dog Friendly: Yes. She lived her whole life with other dogs, and takes great solace with having friends. Truffles can be a bit rough playing, but loves all our dogs.

If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive?

Absolutely, over the past year, Truffles has made a lot of progress, but needs the confidence of a friend, to know that you can be trusted. This is a requirement for her adoption.

Cat Friendly? She is fine with our dog savvy cats

Kid Friendly: Unknown

If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Kids old enough to give her space and understand that Truffles is a special girl who is not interested in attention.

Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them?

Truffles was rescued from a horrific abusive hoarding ‘rescue' situation in Georgia, where she lived in an outdoor pen with numerous other dogs, and was literally feral when she was pulled. Over the past year, Truffles has made great progress, but she will never be an affectionate carefree dog, and needs an adopter who understands her needs and patience. Truffles will require another dog in the home to ease her transition.

Fosters Location: Harrington, DE

Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app
