Truffles's Story

Truffles was found with an embedded collar around her neck. Despite permanently baring the scars of an unpleasant past, Truffles is loving, friendly, and gentle. Her stuffed animals are her source of comfort and company in her lonely shelter kennel, and now that she's in a foster home, it is still hard not to catch her with a stuffy in her mouth!

Truffles is about 4-5 years old, a mature lady who has had some life experience under her belt. Like a typical pittie, she absolute LOVES people and would bark eagerly to meet a new person who has yet to be her best friend. With dogs, she is not a fan of hyper puppy energy. To her, greetings should be polite, calm, and stress free.

This 35lbs beauty was on the euthanasia list as the shelter ran out of space. She was just days away from being sacrificed for space. We simply could not allow that to happen! We know that everyone wants a puppy, and adult dogs like Truffles will likely be with us for some time. But to us, that's worth it. Helping give pups like Truffles a second chance is why we got into rescue!

If you live in DC/MD/NoVa and wish to adopt a snuggly loving pocket pittie who is excited to go for walks and play with her stuffies, please fill out an application for Truffles on our website at www.foreverchangedar.org/adopt-a-pet to begin the process!
