Meet Truffle - the total package. 🤎🐾<br/><br/>Truffle is a 3-year-old, neutered, under-60-pound pittie who we truly believe is the perfect all-around boy.<br/><br/>As of March 2026, Truffle has officially been with us for one full year. And honestly? We cannot understand why.<br/><br/>Truffle came to the shelter as a stray in March 2025. When no one came to reclaim him, we got him ready for adoption. At first, he was what we lovingly call a bit of a "wild child." Full of energy, big personality, and needing guidance. But some dedicated staff members saw his potential right away - and they were absolutely right.<br/><br/>With consistent work from staff, volunteers, and walkers, Truffle blossomed. He didn't just improve - he excelled.<br/><br/>He mastered:<br/><br/>General obedience commands<br/><br/>Polite leash walking<br/><br/>Crate training<br/><br/>Full potty training (yes, even in a shelter setting!)<br/><br/>We were sure he'd be adopted quickly.<br/><br/>When interest didn't come, we decided to give him an even bigger opportunity to shine. Truffle headed to The Dog Company, a local training and boarding facility, for foster and continued structure.<br/><br/>And guess what? He EXCELLED.<br/><br/>They continued building on his training, integrated him into playgroups, took him on outings and adventures - and he proved over and over again that he is an incredibly good, well-rounded dog. We truly thought his forever family would come any day.<br/><br/>But still... nothing.<br/><br/>So next step: a traditional foster home. Let's see how he does in a real household environment.<br/><br/>Once again - he excelled.<br/><br/>In a home, Truffle is:<br/><br/>Wonderful living with other dogs<br/><br/>Fully house trained<br/><br/>Crate trained<br/><br/>An easy, enjoyable walker<br/><br/>Responsive to commands<br/><br/>Structured, and happy<br/><br/>He has done everything we've asked of him. Every single time he's been given a chance, he has risen to the occasion.<br/><br/>We truly cannot brag about this boy enough. He is smart. He is loving. He is structured. He is adaptable.
