Found as a stray, Trooper has shown nothing but resilience as he adjusts to life off the streets.
Weighing in at just 7 pounds, he's the perfect pint-sized companion for someone who appreciates the unique quirks of the Chihuahua breed. Trooper gets along well with other dogs and enjoys their company, but like many Chihuahuas, he also appreciates his own space now and then. He does like to play and can be a real goofball.
Trooper is crate trained and will settle down after a few minutes with some gentle reassurance. He’s working on housebreaking and making good progress with consistency. Like any good Chihuahua, he’s also a talker — he’s not afraid to express his opinions, especially when he wants attention or has something important (in his opinion!) to say.
Trooper would do best in a home with adults or older kids who can give him the space and structure he needs. He’s still learning the ropes of home life, so a patient, Chihuahua-savvy adopter would be ideal. With time, love, and consistency, Trooper is sure to become a loyal and affectionate best friend.
- Dog-friendly
- Chihuahua experience preferred
- Talkative and expressive personality
- Looking for a fresh start and a forever lap
- Prefer a home with adults or older kids
If you’re ready to give Trooper the loving home he deserves, come meet this little trooper today!

If interested please contact Christine at christine@therescueexpress.org
