Trooper's Story

Are you ready for the easiest boy EVER!?!? Trooper has so much love to give and loves to receive it too! He gets along with men and women alike and all children. He's been exposed to children's ages 3, 5, 8 and 14 years and loves them all Trooper lives with a couple of cats and a couple of other large dogs and is constantly vying for their attention so he can play with them. He's a young adult that is 6 yrs old with lots of activity to participate in. He really just loves to be with his person and would benefit if he had someone working from home or if they could take him to work, he would be thrilled! He is very well mannered and would do well at a job site. He pretty much connects with anyone that he meets. One of our volunteers witnessed this and he is a sweetheart. He recently lost about 20 pounds and now weighs as of 8/18 96 lbs. He was overweight, but he could stand to lose a few more pounds as well, so someone active would be great for him, although he loves his downtime as well, just chilling with his person. He is of course an indoor dog, but he enjoys the outdoors and he is house trained. Trooper knows the commands sit and shake. If a stranger approaches or if he hears a noise, he will alert you by barking, but he is not a constant barker. He is so great to have around. Trooper is used to hanging around on the couch and he does love all of his stuffed animal squeaky toys and loves the ball. He, he has been eating Purina one kibble. If you're looking for a boy, that's perfect for your family look no further than Trooper! Troopers' owner passed away and now finds himself having to look for a new home and family.

NOTE: Adoption fee is $250.00. An application needs to be submitted and IF approved, the applicant will be contacted via email. Then a meet and greet and if all goes well, can proceed with the adoption.

Yakima Valley Pet Rescue's Adoption Policy
Applications for our pets must be filled out at https://yvpr.org/adopt/, not the petfinder site. An application must be filled out and approved before a meet/greet can be set up. If approved, you will hear from an adoption coordinator within 72 hours. You will have the opportunity to ask questions before you meet the pet; an adoption may or may not happen at that time. We do adopt outside the Yakima area IF you are able to come to Yakima to pick up your adopted pet. We do not have a kennel facility; all of our pets are in foster homes. Therefore, meets and adoptions take place at our rescue office or at a place chosen by the adoption coordinator. If a pet has 'pending' beside its name, an adoption is imminent. Please fill out an application anyway because adoptions don't always go through. Your application will be kept on file for 30 days in case you find another pet you'd like to apply for. Thanks for thinking adoption. For more information go to http://yvpr.org/adopt/faq/
