Trixie - Fostered in SE Nebraska's Story
Meet Trixie

Trixie wants so much to connect — she's just still figuring out how.

She has the sweetest, almost playful way of approaching. She'll prance just out of reach, gather her courage, dart in for a quick pet, then bounce away again like she needs a little reset. When she first arrived, she was too unsure to be touched at all, so this little dance? It's actually a big, brave step forward.

You can see how much she wants to be part of a home. She watches, she follows, she tries — her heart is there, even if her confidence is still catching up. And the beautiful thing is, she's improving a little more every single day.

With patience and gentle reassurance, Trixie is the kind of dog who will form a deep, meaningful bond. The family who earns her trust will get to watch something really special — a shy girl blossoming into the loving, confident companion she's meant to be.

Trixie is about 1–2 years old and weighs 19 pounds. She's mostly white with beautiful chocolate patches and striking amber eyes. We believe she's a beagle mix, possibly with some Border Collie — she has that alert, intelligent gaze and fluffy tail paired with a cheerful, slightly goofy personality.

She gets along well with other dogs. She hasn't yet been tested with kids or cats. Her potty training is coming along nicely, and she uses a dog door. She's beginning crate training and learning to walk on a leash.

Trixie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and on monthly heartworm prevention. We are guessing she may have some border collie in her, but that is a guess!

She is fostered in southeast Nebraska, about halfway between Omaha and Kansas City, and her foster is willing to meet a potential adopter partway. If interested in adopting Trixie, please fill out the application at www.bassetandbeagle.org. Her adoption fee is $400
