Trixie's Story

I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereTrixie’s foster calls her “the best-behaved German Shepherd at OAS!” and it’s easy to see why. She’s gorgeous, intelligent, loving, and impressively chill. Whether you’re heading to a brewery, coffee shop, or out for a long walk, Trixie is happy to be by your side.

Though initially shy, Trixie settles in with a little time and becomes a loyal, affectionate companion. She knows “sit,” “stay,” and “touch,” is working on recall, and takes treats gently. On leash, she’s engaged and responsive, happy to explore or follow your lead.

In her foster home (a small apartment without a yard), Trixie enjoys an active routine with about three walks a day. Once her exercise needs are met, she’s content relaxing at home. She loves her stuffed toys and has excellent house manners, showing no mischief when left alone. She’s also comfortable being home alone for a full workday.

6 years old and 73 pounds, Trixie is friendly and relaxed with other dogs and could live with a compatible companion or thrive as a solo dog with friends.
