Trixie! Such soulful, sad eyes~ Trixie and her sibling, Tinky and her mom, Trudy are all survivors. A volunteer would pass by a house every day going to and from work. Initially she counted six puppies running from yard to yard, darting traffic. When the puppies slowly started to disappear, she took a moment and knocked on the owner's door. A young girl explained that the house belonged to her grandmother and the family dog got pregnant. Her grandmother, she explained, did not allow the mama or her puppies inside, and slowly, the puppies started to pass away....a few from parvo and others by passing traffic. After multiple visits to the property, the family agreed to allow us to sterilize the three remaining dogs....and they informed us that they did not want the dogs back. Trixie has gained a lot of confidence since she has been in our care. Initially she was terrified, and would growl and snap; afraid of the unknown. She is a soulful, deep thoughts type of pup. She moves with caution, not in a rush, at her own pace, carefully. As she is still a pup, about five months old, she is still learning the ropes as she enjoys the comforts that were not a part of her first few months of life. She is still timid, but after a few minutes, she warms up and enjoys to lean her body up against yours. Out of all the pups, we were told, she was by far the largest, looking like a miniature black lab.
