Trixie's Story

Trixie came to us from an overcrowded Texas shelter. She's a 1-2 year old, 15#, small but mighty, very smart and friendly Chi mix possibly a Chiweenie. She very quickly became a playful buddy to her foster brother and they play constantly when they are not eating or sleeping. She would benefit from a family who is home more often than not. She learned how to use a dog door after a couple of days, and has been working on potty training very successfully. She'll need a refresher at her new forever home. Trixie is an incredibly affectionate lap dog, but also sleeps in a crate the whole night. She's spayed, vaccinated, chipped, HW-, has an amazing appetite, and is longing to learn fun cues (she is very treat- motivated). A fenced yard is preferable since leashed walks are not her favorite thing to do, but she's opening up to new experiences. A quiet suburban neighborhood would be a better fir than a busy city one. She loves the sight of a harness, and doesn't resist putting it on. She loves to meet other small non-intimidating dogs, and friendly people and kids. She has not been cat or kid tested but respectful kids 6+ may be considered. If you are interested in meeting Trixie, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Trixie's adoption fee is $375 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.
