Trish's Story

Trish came to us after a couple lost their home and had to move out and were unable to take her with. She is typically Chihuahua that is hesitant and reserved initially and she warms up, which takes maybe a week. She does do better with acclimating if there is another dog for to socialize with. Once she acclimates into the home she is really a sweetheart and goofball. Anyone who has had a Chihuahua knows what I am talking about. She uses potty pad but will also go outside. She seems to do well with the mats with fake grass on top of a catch pan if she doesn't make it outside. She has shown she likes other calm dogs, loves cats and she is very attentive to her person. Very food motivated so keeping her on a strict diet is ideal.
We have started her on vaccines since she is 8 years old and hasn't had a single shot since she was a pup. We tested her for HW (negative), Parvo (negative), Giardia/Coccidia (negative). We have chipped her and we are trying to get her on the spay calendar for January 2026.
If you would like to learn more or set up a meet and greet, please contact the foster parent at (218)640-1930. Please note, calls or texts will be answered between 9am-9pm.

We have potential adopters fill out the adoption contract, return it to the rescue to have it analyzed. We then do a conference call to get more information on the family and home that is interested in the animal. After the conference call we set up a meet and greet and allow the family to come to meet the pet and determine if the animal will be a good fit with the family.
