Trinket's Story

Mental health advocates, hardship survivors, or those who simply love a slowwwww burn--this is a dog you can appreciate. We want to be transparent: Trinket isn't for everyone. She isn't a traditional little lap dog who wants to be carried around everywhere. In fact, she really doesn't want to be touched at all right now. But she DOES want to be loved. She shows this in her own little ways--following her foster mom around the house like a little shadow, sitting at the foot of her armchair and staring into her soul, spying around corners, taking food from her hands, and even sneakily curling up next to her on the couch when she was taking a nap one day. Trinket is also doing well with the resident dog, cats, birds, and even a fish tank in her foster home!

We aren't sure what Trinket's full story is, but here's what we DO know: She was found running loose near an abandoned property, along with a pack of other small dogs. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan spotted them, picked up everyone they could, and got them to safety with SICSA. The dogs all appeared to be very well cared for, but unfortunately, we were never able to locate an owner.

But don't go feeling sorry for Trinket--this tiny girl is a tiny WARRIOR. Sure, she's having a hard time with all these changes. But she's not letting a big, scary world get the best of her! Is she scared? Yes--but she's facing her fears and achieving small milestones every day! If you're a patient soul with a quiet home and a dog who can help show Trinket that you're a trustworthy human, you may be the one Trinket has been waiting for. Ask how you can be a part of Trinket's journey today!

Trinket is currently hanging out in a foster home and is available by appointment only. To learn more about her, please contact SICSA Pet Adoption & Wellness Center, located at 8172 Washington Church Road, Washington Township, OH 45458. We are open Monday through Saturday from 12pm-7pm.
