Trigger's Story
From street to stylish...meet Trigger! Please take a minute to read his amazing story of transformation. He was found on a cold December night soaking wet and in a horrendous over grown fur condition, This dog clearly was a product of owner neglect. He was trying to attach himself to a group of homeless men who did not want him. When we saw the situation we intervened and the group told us to take him. For his safety that night and the many nights to follow we did. The street was no place for this young inexperienced dog. How he got there and in the condition he was in we will never know,
After his stray hold period, the first stop was the groomer where the real Trigger was revealed to us and to himself. A tail, eyes to see with, a mouth to drink and eat with...it all came back and Trigger was transformed. It really was an awakening to him when he was relieved of all the excess matting and dirt he had lived with so long.
It will soon be a month that Trigger is with us and we are learning his personality.
To share with you, we believe Trigger did not have much of a life before we rescued him. Perhaps he was intended for backyard breeding because he knows very little about dog life. He is always searching for that person to be with or that place to belong to. He is currently in a foster and is learning to sleep in his crate at night and how to use the outside for bathroom needs,
He is learning to walk on a leash which is coming easy to him, sit for his treat and he is an excellent car rider.
He has energy..... lots of it & play is essential to him. We think he would be best suited for a home with another dog with similar personality traits. Due to his young age (approximately one year) and energy we would not recommend a home with toddlers. Trigger seems to be cat friendly . He has had no reactions to the cats he has been introduced to.
Please make note that Trigger will require grooming ..... because he truly is a white fluffy. Trigger is fully vetted and in vibrant health for a dog who had such little care. Please email haltrescue@gmail.com with questions or complete an on-line adoption request/application. Our adoption fee of $250 will go to saving another dog in need.
