Trevi's Story

LOOKING FOR A VELCRO DOG? THIS LITTLE ANGEL MAY BE YOUR GIRL!

This sweet girl has only been in her foster home for a few days, and the transformation has already been incredible.

When she first arrived, she was terrified of nearly everything and everyone. But underneath all that fear was the sweetest little soul just waiting to feel safe. In only THREE DAYS, she has started blossoming into an affectionate, cuddly little lovebug.

She is the definition of a Velcro dog. Once she trusts you, she wants to be wherever you are. She sleeps snuggled right next to her foster mom in bed, LOVES pets and cuddles, and even enjoys being brushed!

Here's what we've learned about her so far:

She has only gone potty outside - no accidents so far!
She has not needed to be crated in her foster home.
She is incredibly affectionate once she feels safe.
She is treat motivated and has already learned "sit!"
She allows her foster mom to put her collar on and take it off.
She has shown no resource guarding.
Even when she becomes scared, she has shown no aggression toward her foster mom.
She does wonderfully with her foster's calm, gentle dog.
She isn't a huge fan of the young, wild husky energy in the home and will appropriately tell her to back off - although she has already started initiating little moments of play!
She seems comfortable when her foster leaves the house as long as another dog is there with her.

Because she is still learning that the world isn't such a scary place, we're looking for a very specific forever home where she can continue to blossom.

HER IDEAL HOME:

A securely fenced yard is REQUIRED.
A calm, gentle resident dog is REQUIRED to help give her confidence and show her the ropes.
No young children - a quiet, predictable home will be best for her.
She is not ready for leashed walks yet, so her adopter must be patient and willing to work at her pace.
Someone who is home often would be ideal.
Most importantly, she needs a patient, understanding person who isn't going to rush her and will allow her to build confidence on her own timeline.

She doesn't need someone to force her to be brave. She needs someone who will give her the safety and time she needs to discover that she already is.

In just three days, we've watched a terrified little dog begin to trust, cuddle, learn, explore the backyard and even PLAY.

Imagine who she could become after three weeks. Three months. A lifetime.

If you're looking for an independent dog who wants her own space, she's probably not your girl.

But if you've always dreamed of having a little shadow following you from room to room, sleeping beside you at night, soaking up every cuddle and loving you with her entire heart...

She may be exactly who you've been waiting for.

Adoption Fee: $350

Adoption Link: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HPH/Dog

Requirements: SECURE FENCED YARD, NO KIDS.
