Trent's Story

Hello Earthlings! I am looking for an amazing home with the right individual or family. Some are hopeless romantics; I am not. Read on to find out more about me.

***

His current guardians had threatened to send him to the pound. Their reason: he had outgrown their standards and then, they wanted a smaller dog.

My boyfriend and I rescued this amazing puppy, who had been living in poverty--in a broken down, half-enclosed, garage. Trent had been living a life of misery and pain, tied up to tree with a heavy chain for most of the day, as his guardians had to tie him up so that he would not escape, because their fence was broken as well. Had Trent not been rescued from this home, he would have added to the number of countless dogs currently awaiting death row at Auschwitz, due to human apathy. My boyfriend and I came across these people through my father, who met a poor man looking for a home for the dog (Trent's guardians).

About Trent:

• Neutered.

• Has had his first set of shots.

• Has been de-wormed.

• Has already been micro-chipped.

This dog is incredibly smart, and learns quickly. He is very playful, friendly, and funny! Two of his cutest features are his adorable white socks and floppy ears! He is a Corgi/Shepherd mix. He is estimated to be about 7-8 months, medium sized (rather small for his looks), and approximately 45 pounds. Our vet told us that he will not grow any larger, but he will fill out a bit more.

What else?:

He gets along great with cats, and loves to play with them. He finds other dogs irresistible, especially ones that are very playful and active. He is great at dog parks! He also gets along well with children--in fact, the home we rescued him from had a 1 year old baby whom Trent grew up with since he was less than 1 month old. He loved that kid! Trent loves to play and run around--he is very fun to watch while you are at a dog park or an off-leash dog area. When he is happy (which is most of the time), you can tell just by the way his body bounces. He is so funny! Sometimes he'll look at you and tilt his head in confusion when he doesnt understand you. He is FUN, loyal, a goofball, very loving, sweet, and just plain CUTE!

Anything else?:

Trent still needs a bit of training--we currently have him enrolled in classes--he will occasionally chew things, and does not like being left unattended for long periods of time as he gets bored, in which case, he will bark. Also, he will sometimes jump if he hasn’t seen you for a while. All of these things, however, are no surprise, and, are no problem with a bit of training.

More information:
Trent is a very special dog. He will love and adore you endlessly, and is extremely easy to fall in love with! He loves to sleep with you at night, and honestly, thinks he is a cat sometimes. He will literally sit in your lap—yes, like a baby—and let you hold him and rub his belly. He sits there in total comfort, knowing he is getting a free massage! He knows where his dog bed is, and jumps right on it when bedtime arrives. He is definately a people person. Believe me, you will look at him and he will communicate to you: "I love you! I’m so happy to see you! I’ve been waiting a whole minute to give you kisses! Thank you for saving my life and caring for me." Although he does need a bit training to work on the habits, he is very submissive and learns quickly.

Because he is young and energetic, it is very important to note that he does require a lot of exercise and attention. He can be a very fun dog to work out with, or to go to a dog park with. Of course, this is expected for any individual or family contemplating the adoption of any dog, especially a young one. If you are gone for long periods of time (4 or more hours), he would possibly require either: a dog sitter, dog walker OR doggy day care.

All in all, Trent is just oh-so-loyal-loving-playful-cute-funny—the best pooch around. We beleive he would be a great family dog. The perfect pooch to be your best friend for life. The dog to snuggle up with your kid (or you!) when she is ready for bed at night. He is such a fun dog to have around. Trent loves toys, cats, children, and other dogs, which is great. He needs the right home though, and he's waiting patiently for that to come by.

As for the training--he is currently enrolled in classes. Our organization can also give you a recommended list of dog-walkers and doggy-day care services. Included in the adoption is a health check by our vet before he goes home with you, copies of all medical records, and an adoption packet. When you contact us, please provide a little bit about your situation, if you currently have any companion animals, children, and why you want to adopt a dog. We’ll be very happy to set up an appointment for you to meet Trent.

Please view more of Trent's photos at:

Trent's Photos

***

Contact: Rachel or Dan for any questions or inquiries to help rescue this adorable soul.
By e-mail: mstimothychubbs@yahoo.com or danfrias@gmail.com
By phone: 714-717-5722 or 323-791-8506.
