Travis is a 2-year-old, high-energy, big-hearted boy who has been in and out of the shelter system since May of 2024, and he's more than ready to finally find his person. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations, and ready to go home with his forever family. This athletic guy thrives when he has a job to do or an adventure to share — he truly loves doing life with his human. Travis is incredibly smart and very toy-motivated. He knows his basic commands and is absolutely obsessed with tug — if you're looking for a dog who will happily train, play, and engage with you, Travis is your guy. He's also a big fan of water and would gladly spend all day in a pool if given the chance! Travis is dog-social and does best in a home that can provide structure, consistency, and outlets for his energy. With the right guidance, he really shines and shows just how special he is. Travis bonds deeply with his people — if he could crawl into your skin and stay there, he absolutely would. SELECTING THE RIGHT COMPANION ANIMAL Love at first sight! This is how our new companions usually get chosen. Thoughtful consideration must also be taken. Some dogs need lots of room to run. If you do not already have a fenced in yard, consider the cost of a suitable fence. If a fence is not possible do you have time for long walks? Long haired animals need a lot of brushing. Do you have time for this? Some may also require professional grooming. Can you pay for this? Younger animals will need training, which will involve substantial investments of both time and money. Please also consider who will be sharing your home with your new companion. A home with elderly people may not be the right fit for a large, high energy dog. A home with very young children may not be the right fit for very young puppies or kittens. Do you have other pets in your home? We test our shelter animals for general compatibility but recommend that if you have existing pets a “meet and greet” be set
