Travis was abandoned on the streets most of his life. Our vet estimated him to be 2 years old and he weighs 32 lbs. He loves his person and loves to play, but is fearful of men at first. Travis is crate and potty trained and would do well with an active person or a family with a canine friend. While he would love to play with the house cat, he knows the house cat does not want to play with him. We are requiring that if there are children in the home, that they are 16 years of age or older. Per Wisdom Panel he is a mix of 16 different breeds with the top 2 being 24% American Pit Bull Terrier and 18% Chihuahua. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
