Trapper's Story

Only 2 years old, Trapper was terrified of people when HERO got him & we assume he spent most of his young life alone as a stray prior to HERO. He is still shy around new people, but once he gets to know you, he is very playful and loving.

Trapper would be good for a family with older children (12 and up). Younger children tend to scare him with their energy. Trapper lives with several pups & plays well with other dogs; however, he just doesn’t like it when they lay down close to his rump or come up from behind.

Trapper is cat friendly (he tries to play with his fosters cats). He loves hard chew toys, not stuffies so much.

Trapper will need a family with plenty of patience to coax him out of his shell giving him time to earn his trust & affection. Once he is used to you he is a great boy and will even wake you up in the morning like he does to his foster dad in by staring at him nose to nose until he opens his eyes!

Trapper is about 30lbs, fully vetted, healthy, but does have a cauliflower ears from an infection prior to rescue. He is house trained using to a doggy door.

If interested in Trapper, apply at herohounds.org/adopt
