Traci's Story

Your ideal companion!

Hi, pals! My name is Traci, and I'm a 3-year-old Terrier mix female, weighing 36 pounds. TAP rescued me from an Ensenada parking lot, and I've been anxiously waiting to find my furever family ever since! I'm already potty trained and crate trained, and I walk nicely while on a leash. My health is in tip-top shape, too, and I've already been spayed. Do I sound like two paws up, or what?

I'm a gentle and friendly girl, who has a laid-back and mellow personality. My favorite activities include taking walks, snuggling, and playing with my chew toys. I love my humans, too, but I have an initial tendency to get a little nervous around males. But, once given enough time to warm up, I am able to be myself and shine like the wonderful pup I am!

As far as my ideal home goes, I think I'd do great in any type of situation. But, one thing is for sure, no cats please! I like to chase them too much. However, I'm a dog-friendly gal, and I would prefer to have company in doggie or human form throughout the day. I do well on my own, too, and show no signs of separation anxiety. Kiddos would probably be A-OK, given my easy-going temperament. Just be forewarned that I have a tendency to jump on people when I get excited, so a little one just learning to walk probably wouldn't be a good fit for me.

Do we sound like the perfect pair? If so, my adoption fee is $400 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

The Animal Pad's Adoption Policy
We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane. Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational. All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times. All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise. Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000. Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc. Adoption Application: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
