Every now and then, we get a perfect gentleman walk in the shelter doors. Yesterday, Tosh arrived and we are all smitten! <br/><br/>When a volunteer went to leash him up for his first walk, he gave us a big smile and he instantly got a piece of our hearts! Then he proceeded to be a perfect gentleman during his first walk. <br/>We decided to go ahead with a bath since things were going so well. A great bath guy! Finally, a spiffy new collar! And this is day ONE at the shelter. <br/><br/>Tosh is a 41 lb terrier mix and he is 3 years old. We are hoping to get him.on the books to be neutered Thursday August 4th. He will be available for adoption after that. But you can pre-adopt if you fall in love! <br/><br/>Tosh is sadly heartworm positive. He is on a 30 day pretreatment plan and then his treatment will be coordinated. The HCHS pays for the HW treatment at our veterinarian. <br/><br/>Heartworms and the treatment are tough on a dog. Tosh would benefit from a foster ( or of course forever home) as he goes through this. After the treatment, rest is required for 6 full weeks. No activity at all the first 2 weeks. <br/><br/>This fellow hopes to have interested visitors soon.
