Torino's Story

Torino is a 1 year old, 45 pound Pit Bull/Lab/Collie mix who is looking for a home where he can be someone's one and only.

Torino found himself in the shelter after his human was arrested. Despite the upheaval he's been through, he has shown himself to be a loving, affectionate dog who really wants a person of his own.

Torino is a total people dog. He loves to cuddle and wants to be close to his person. He is also wonderfully independent and can entertain himself much of the time.

He is potty trained, smart, and very easy to train. He walks nicely on leash when he is by himself and isn't particularly food motivated.

Torino would do best as an only dog. While he can play with other dogs, he doesn't have a strong need for canine companionship. He can become very possessive of his person around another dog and wants to be the one getting the attention. For that reason, he would be happiest in a home where he doesn't have to share his person.

Torino also has some separation anxiety. When left alone in a kennel, he may bark, howl, scratch for about 30 minutes. During that time, he has a hard time settling and may wait or look for something to do rather than relaxing. He will need an adopter who is patient and willing to help him build confidence with being alone.

The good news is that Torino is incredibly smart and easy to train, so he has all the right ingredients for continued progress.

If you're looking for a loving, devoted companion who wants to be your guy, Torino could be the perfect match. We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions.
If you are interested in meet or adoption me, please fill out an adoption application athttps://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=sa3058&method=online_form_html&formid=41
